The Connecting Sports project was a London 2012 Olympics legacy project which aims to inspire and engage children and young people through sports, sports media and young sports leadership.
Project Achievements.
Increased sporting opportunities for children and young people including the delivery of: archery; cycling awareness and ‘Tour De Cookley’; tennis; table tennis; cricket; multi-sport holiday activity camps.
Development of a Young Sports Leadership Academy for young people aged 12-17, including volunteering opportunities provided at holiday activity camps.
Multi media training delivered to young people across Herefordshire & Worcestershire and creating young media teams to produce School Games sporting event films.
Development of innovative healthy eating initiative “I’m An Archer – Get Me Out Of Here’.
